Linzi Stoppard and Ben Lee's Swarovski Crystal Violins World Tour

The FUSE Signature Swarovski Crystal violins belong to the virtuoso rock electric violin rock duo, FUSE - the Prince and Princess of the violin world Ben Lee and Linzi Stoppard.

FUSE bridges the gap between pop, classical and heavy metal music. Wanting to make their mark Linzi and Ben purposely stayed away from the classical cliches developing the unmistakable FUSE sound using analogue guitar backline and valve amps mixed with the latest technical wizardry. After 3 months of experimenting the closely guarded combination was born.

The album features 14 lovingly interpreted anthems taking the listener on an uplifting journey never heard before. Tracks include ‘Beat It’ by Michael Jackson and Coldplay’s ‘Fix You’, hits by Kiss, Led Zeppelin and Europe. In 2010/11 FUSE performed live on TV to audiences of over 200 million including appearances on GQ Men of the Year Awards, headlining the Istanbul Cross-Over Festival, London & Paris Fashion Weeks, several performances at the Royal Albert Hall and Glastonbury. The duo’s debut album, ‘FUSE’ is available on Edel Records / Universal Music. The next year will see the world's leading violin group take their thrilling show across the Far East and Asia before ending in the States.

FUSE are already finding friends in the rock fraternity who appreciate what they do. After raving, “I love what you’ve done, how did you get that sound?”, Francis Rossi appears on the album version of Quo’s ‘Down Down’, Nick Mason of Pink Floyd offered his services as a drummer and Roger Daltrey asked Linzi and Ben to support him!

The FUSE duo are the only string group in the world to be officially sponsored by Swarovski Crystal who created an exclusive one-off pair of Fuse Signature Crystal Violins worth over One Million Pound each. Following in the footsteps of international superstars Madonna, Michael Jackson and Kylie Minogue, FUSE's Linzi Stoppard and Ben Lee joined forces with Swarovski to embellish each of their bespoke Bridge instruments with an incredible 50,000 crystals each, every one hand-applied, creating the world's most expensive electric violins. When ever Linzi and Ben pick up a bow their exclusive Swarovski Crystal violins are always in the other hand, creating quite literally a bedazzling experience.

These incredible works of art were unveiled by Linzi Stoppard and Ben Lee to the world's media in-store at Harrods, London. Harrods is renowned for enhancing its customers’ shopping experience so this was the perfect place to give customers the chance to catch a glimpse of these extraordinary masterpieces. The FUSE violins were exhibited on the fifth floor of the iconic Egyptian Escalators.

Following on from the London debut FUSE have exhibited the Swarovskis around the world taking in on their travels Hong Kong, Monaco, Berlin, Seoul, Chicago, Moscow and more...

Linzi Stoppard of FUSE said, “These violins are incredible, just stunning – the light explodes off the Swarovski crystals. We love the fact that whilst they have become pieces of art, we can still play the songs from our new album ‘FUSE’ on them.

The Swarovski company has been making the finest lead glass crystal for over 100 years. It began in 1895 when Daniel Swarovski founded Swarovski Crystal after working for many years on a precision faceting machine. The combination of fine crystal and precision cutting made the Swarovski name famous. The keys to their success were Daniel’s patented precision crystal cutting machine and the their demand for the very finest quality crystal available.

By 1913 the Swarovski Company built their own production plant to perfect the formula for flawless crystal. Their goal was to create the very finest crystal in the world and to meet production demands that were growing every year. These stone caused quite a stir in the fashion world of the 1920s and demand grew worldwide. Aurora Borealis was the next innovation in the crystal fashion world in 1956. Crystals were coated with an almost imperceptible layer of metal to give the stone a rainbow sparkle. Manfred Swarovski, Daniel's grandson worked with Christian Dior to perfect this process.

1977 saw the introduction of Cubic Zirconia - the imitation stone that most closely matches a natural stone in sparkle and brilliance. CZ jewellery was all the rage and produced a revolution in the jewellery business. In 1995 Swarovski celebrated 100 years of the worlds finest crystal and opened the “Swarovski Kristallwelten” a manmade grotto filled with the most magnificent crystal creations. Crystal Tattoos were announced in 1999 and now they could be attached directly on the body, no fabric required. Demand for these gems as well as all the other Swarovski products is growing steadily.
